La Villa at L’Andana is a the perfect place to experience the refined atmosphere of an old country villa.
The spacious, sun-lit rooms and suites are a corner of comfort in which the Maremma enters without knocking thanks to nuances of dust and earth, greys and beiges, ochre-yellow and purple, are offset by crimson white.
A velvety comfort expresses a genuine love for this corner of Tuscany. All the 33 rooms offer an evocative view over the Maremma countryside and each one has a traditional Tuscan stone fireplace to further warm the atmosphere.

All the 14 rooms and suites at ‘La Casa’ boast views of the green and surrounding hills, covered in orderly rows of olive trees, and beyond, live oaks, strawberry trees and mastic trees, which give off an unmistakable balsamic aroma of the Mediterranean macchia.
Designed by Mocchetti & Partners studio, all the rooms and suites at ‘La Casa’ are tastefully furnished using materials and colours to convey the true essence of the Maremma Grossetana. Wood, leather pony and marble. Orange, red and pale grey as well as brick-red and dark brown.
The interior design of the rooms reflects the uniqueness of this place, which is genuinely land yet also irresistibly sea, since the extraordinary force and vitality of the Tyrrhenian sea reach thus far.
There are two restaurants inside the estate: La Trattoria Enrico Bartolini and La Villa.
Located in what used to be the ancient granary of Grand Duke Leopold II of Lorraine, La Trattoria Enrico Bartolini (One Michelin Star) is a contemporary restaurant, a simple meeting place, where experiencing the atmosphere and flavours of an exclusive “trattoria toscana” restaurant.
You will find the genuineness of local products, with a rigorous respect for Tuscan cuisine and the culinary philosophy “Contemporary Classic” by chef Enrico Bartolini, together with the executive chef Bruno Cossio, according to which the values of the past and present merge together to create a brand new and original flavour.
At La Villa you’ll find gourmet flavours combined with homely comfort: the kitchen offers has the cosy, informal atmosphere of a domestic kitchen and leads to an intimate dining room with a pretty stone fireplace and from there to a superb veranda overlooking the park, the chapel and the crystal- clear water of a romantic swimming pool nestling among cypresses and maritime pines.
The dishes are prepared by the same chefs as those at La Trattoria Enrico Bartolini. They all reflect genuine local traditions, where the delicate tastes of food from the sea flank stronger ones from the land.
WELLNESS & SPA
Designed by the architect Ettore Mocchetti, director of AD Italia, L’Andana’s ESPA SPA covers an area over 600 square meters, divided into four sections, two of which are thermal, with slate floors: a place is surrounded by a refined atmosphere, with suggestive ceiling vaults, natural materials, warm colors and romantic scented candles. ESPAspas are widely recognised as among the best in the world and are designed to offer holistic treatments using pure, natural products that revitalize the body and soul, achieving excellent results.
The treatments proposed by the ESPA SPA at L’Andana are the result of research into the most effective techniques used around the world and focus on a holistic and personalized wellness dimension.
ESPA products are based on essential oils, extracts of plants and sea salts, which, in combination with aromatherapy, and they offer the benefits to the face, body and spirit, ensuring the ideal balance of the “5 senses”.
All the products used are made in accordance with a strict code of ethics and environmental protection.
The Moretti Family also focused on developing the vine-growing and wine-making project, adding to the blessing of water – represented by the Acquagiusta spring right under the estate – that of wine and oil. On the 500-hectare estate they set up the Tenuta La Badiola winery, which presses grapes from 30 hectares of hillside vineyards to produce Acquagiusta red, white and rosé.
What’s more, the Badiola olive grove, planted at the time of Leopold II, produces a special extra-virgin olive oil called And’Olio, featuring the authentic scents of the Mediterranean macchia. A stockfarm raising Maremma cattle has returned the estate to its ancient splendour as a place of residence and work, one that borrows its distinctive features from nature.

Those who prefer to combine sport and nature can devote their time to a different experience each day, with delightful horse rides in the hills, exciting tennis challenges on the nearby court, enjoyable bike rides or walks to the hermitage church 7 km away.
The Tyrrhenian sea lies a few km from L’Andana and offers the ideal spot for a boat trip to discover the Tuscan archipelago: the largest island is Elba, justly renowned for its lush vegetation and the contrasting rust-red hills and intense blue crystal-clear waters.
Off the Argentario promontory lies Isola del Giglio, with lovely inlets and characteristic fishing villages.
Not far off is Giannutri, a petit paradise of peace and quiet, where cars are prohibited and the exceptionally clear water attracts divers from all over.
Pianosa and Montecristo are the southernmost islands in the archipelago, both wild and desert-like.
Last but not least, L’Andana is a strategic location for day trips to some of Italy’s most important cities of art, such as Florence (150 km), Siena (80 km) and Arezzo (150 km). Even the capital, Rome, lies only 180 km away.
Closer to home and of equal artistic interest are the nearby towns of Castiglione della Pescaia and Grosseto (20 km).
