The Standard, Ibiza, Spain
It was the most anticipated opening on the White Island. In the heart of the Old Town, a few steps from the waterfront along the pedestrian Vara de Rey, The Standard, Ibiza opens this spring: 53 rooms and suites, with bright, eclectic furnishings, in a clean, all-white building, plus an independent private residence, Casa Privada. The rooftop pool and restaurant are prime vantage points for views of Ibiza Castle. The project is by acclaimed Spanish architect and designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, with interiors designed by The Standard’s in-house design team and Oskar Kohnen. The design celebrates the energy of the island with the chic atmosphere of the 1960s. It has a total of 67 rooms and suites. Restaurant and rooftop remain open until the wee hours of the morning. The rooftop poolside bar provides unsurpassed views, the same views that have also made the group famous in Los Angeles, New York and London. In a separate building, Casa Privada, equipped with a private pool, bar, gym, lounge and 14 rooms, is available for groups of friends.
Radisson Blu Zaffron Resort, Santorini.
Nestled in a private setting just steps from Kamari, Santorini’s main beach, the Radisson Blu Zaffron Resort (named after the rare and delicate saffron flower that still blooms in some parts of the island) opened April 18, a lifestyle resort that blends authentic hospitality, opulent design, in a place of enchantment, with a beach reserved only for guests, exclusive events and unforgettable experiences built to order. It is designed by Greek architects Arc-Set, who wanted to respect the island’s rugged landscape while creating a relaxing and warm retreat.
Hotel La Palma, Capri
It was the first hotel to open on Capri, in 1822, and has since become a symbol of hospitality on the island. Today Hotel La Palma reopens after a restyling signed by Oetker Collection and the Rubens brothers’ ownership. Located a few steps from the famous Piazzetta, it will once again become the heart of the island’s social life, with the same allure that in the past attracted artists, poets, writers and musicians from all over the world. The hotel will have from 50 elegant rooms and suites, a private beach club, a completely renovated swimming pool and a moderate spa, as well as three fashion boutiques. Overseeing the restaurant, bar and terrace will be chef Gennaro Esposito, who has headed the starred restaurant Torre del Saracino for 23 years, a guarantee.

W Algarve, Portugal
Reflecting the rich historical heritage and beautiful landscape of the Algarve, Portugal, are the architecture and interiors designed by AB Concept for the new W Algarve, which opens this spring. Indeed, the fascinating curved lines of the Benagil caves inspired the flowing design of the interior spaces, while the color palette stretches from blue to aquamarine to turquoise and references the hues of the sky and the Atlantic Ocean. The use of textiles is studied down to the smallest detail, so guests experience a fascinating place linked to local history and traditions, from pottery making to mosaics.
