A home in an Umbrian palace: this is the atmosphere of Palazzo Seneca, a charming property in Norcia, in the heart of the most secret part of Umbria, the region of the black truffle.
Palazzo Seneca was built in the 16th century by the homonymous family from Piedivalle, whose inhabitants were famous as skilled wood carvers. Today, it’s a fusion between design and tradition: the search for unique materials and objects, combined with the know-how of the most renowned Umbrian craftsmen, make it a unique and charming destination.
Simplicity and quality: this is the secret of the new, elegant project promoted and realized by Vincenzo and Federico Bianconi, the last generation of a family that has been offering hospitality and catering in Italy since 1850.
ACCOMMODATION – Palazzo Seneca Relais & Châteaux
The best Umbrian artisans worked on the detailed refurbishing of the property and used unique materials and decorative objects to create perfect harmony between colors and lights, tradition and design.
Antique wooden canopy beds or inlaid wooden headboards, unique antique pieces, closets, and writing desks right from the 16th and 18th centuries, belonging to the Seneca family, have been cleverly restored.
In some rooms, you will find floors in antique oak wood or traditional terracotta. The bathrooms feature black granite (Meteor) or ecru marble, both elegant and of high quality. On the walls were textural paintings made with jute, the fabric formerly used by bakers for the natural leavening of bread.
