Explore the untamed West Iceland in this program designed for Luxury Travellers who enjoy off the grid experiences and want to get a taste of authentic Iceland. Good for families, a group of friends, boomers and millennials who wish avoid the crowds and discover an untouched part of Iceland. Available all year long both Northern lights and Midnight sun seasons!
DAY 1 — Pick-up by your driver guide who will escort you during the whole duration of the program. Make a stop in Reykjavík to experience a city walk with a twist: either a Viking costume photoshoot and taste of Iceland (family) or a craft beer-tasting tour of the city with a food stop at a local restaurant.
Head then to Kleif Farm in Kjós, near the magnificent fjord of Hvalfjörður. Possibility of doing paddle in the nearby lake, bath in the private geothermal hot-tub of the property or just enjoy a walk in the Icelandic countryside.
DAY 2 — Explore Hvalfjörður off the beaten tracks. Start your day with an easy hike to the hidden Glymur waterfall.
Relax in the geothermal sea baths of Hvammsvík before heading to an evening of exquisite discovery with the Wine School by the Lake where you will enjoy some of the best wine paired with Icelandic delicacies from this terroir. Overnight at Kleif Farm.
DAY 3 — Touring the North West. Venture on the majestic sites of Grábrók volcano where you will enjoy a circular walk of the crater with a unique view over a lava field. We will offer champagne and sweet treats to appreciate on top of the volcano!
Down the valley, walk off the beaten tracks to the sites of Glanni waterfall and Paradísarlaut pond.
The West of Iceland being the land of the sagas, you will enjoy an afternoon around this exiting theme starting with a Viking Lunch in the middle of a secret forest location while listening to a Viking Age Specialist who will debunk the Viking Age for you before escorting you on the premise of a real Viking Age house and fieldwork.
Overnight stay at the Dalur Luxury Resort where you can either relax in a geothermal hot tub.
DAY 4 — Go West and discover the Snæfellsnes peninsula with its hidden highlights, fishing villages, a black timber church and a lighthouse, cliffs, gorges, beaches and a unique gastronomy experience within the Vatnshellir Cave where a private lunch awaits! End this slow-travelling day full of wonders at Dalur Luxury Resort.
DAY 5 — Departure day. Drive South to the airport and depending on your flight, the guide will make a stop at the waterfalls of Hraunfossar and Barnafoss on the way.
