Skincare: how Korea runs the Beauty World – Considering one’s daily life and the air pollution we are exposed to, together with the sun rays, it goes without saying how much taking care of our skin health is essential.
Today we would like to give you some advice on how to take care of your skin, mainly for two reasons: firstly, health is the most important thing in everyone’s life, therefore looking after it is a duty, not only a pleasure; secondly, our skin speaks for us when we interact with others: it’s not only a swallow interest in the ancient idea of beauty – the Greek ideal of perfection – but a deep concept rooting in the ceaseless interaction between human beings and the surrounding world.
Talking about skincare, we must mention Korea.
According to connoisseurs, Korea stands at the top of beauty care world. Over time, Korean cosmetics industry became international, and nowadays it holds the supremacy in this field thanks to its incredibly advanced technology and innovation.
Here are the 10 steps for a perfect beauty and skincare routine:
1 – CLEANSING OIL AND WATER
Clean your skin by using a cleansing oil to remove the impurity of the whole day out, and massage it for a bit.
This activity should be done before sleeping but you might as well do it in the morning after awakening.
2 – FOAM CLEANSER
The second step of cleansing – and therefore we talk about double cleansing – is to use a foam cleanser and wash your face with water: the foam is important to remove every cleansing oil residue.
3 – EXFOLIATION
Using a scrub to exfoliate your skin is fundamental to refine skin pores and to sweep every dead cell away from our skin.
This treatment should be done no more than twice a week.
4 – SKIN TONER
Toner or skin toner – as it is called in Korea – is perfect to complete the 4 cleaning steps and to rebalance skin’s Ph, so the following steps are focused on skin hydration and all the other specific treatments.
5 – ESSENCE
In Korea, the essence is the core treatment and most important step of beauty skin care.
This product is useful in reinforcing the protective barriers of the skin and in making it to be shinier and smoother.
6 – SERUM, BOOSTER OR AMPULE
Called in three different ways, serum is related to the kind of skin to which is put on, therefore there are different types of them, and its effects are many (anti-age, make your skin shine, improve cells turnover ecc.).
7 – SHEET MASK
It is a very soothing moment of the day – which should be done in the evenings – and Korean people tend to live it as a moment focused just onto oneself care, like a daily hug.
8 – EYE CREAM
Due to the softness of the skin area around our eyes, it should be treated more than the others: the product used must be soft, deflating and lighting up the skin.
9 – HYDRATION
The moisturizer gives hydration to the skin and the product you should choose depends on the season, climate conditions and your skin type.
10 – SUNSCREEN
The sunscreen is always important, so it is not a good choice to use it only when we are sunbathing on the beach, since UVA and UVB rays hit us every day.
