Although there are several myths claiming that Wednesday or Tuesday mornings are the best days to do so, no evidence can back them up. But don’t despair because you can still find cheap flight prices no matter what day of the week it is. 

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are NOT the Best Days to Book a Flight

Back in the day, airlines had to manually input the prices of new flights. It meant that prices were cheaper after they upload the new prices. It resulted in a myth claiming that Wednesday or Tuesday mornings were the bests days for booking a flight.

Although you can score some great deals on Wednesday or Tuesday mornings, nothing is really special about these days. 

Complex algorithms now decide airline prices in real time. It means that you can find great prices every time every day of the week. Simply put, you don’t have to wake up at dawn on Wednesday or Tuesday just to book a flight. 

Very Early in the Morning is NOT the Best Time to Book a Flight

In line with the Wednesday and Tuesday myth, some people also claim that you need to search and book a flight very early in the morning. Although great prices might be available at 4 or 5 in the morning, there is no truth to the belief that these times are special. 

Try to look for flights when you got some time instead of just following a rigid schedule. By doing so, you can be sure that you won’t miss a great deal because a Saturday afternoon or a Friday night might actually offer the best flight prices. 

Best Days to Book a Flight for the Holidays

Similar rules are also applicable to flights for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Although it might be more difficult to score great deals for your holiday trip, it is still very much possible. Try to do your search ahead of time as much as you can. 

You also need to make sure that you book once you find a price that suits your budget since available holiday flights are often limited in number. Again, Wednesdays and Tuesdays are not special, so you don’t need to give extra attention to these days. 

Use the 24-Hour Cancellation Rule to Your Advantage

It is recommended to book a cheap flight immediately the moment you see one. Prices change all the time so that great price you saw a few minutes won’t probably last that long. It also means you shouldn’t wait until Wednesday or Tuesday if you saw a cheap deal on a Saturday night. 

Again, keep in mind that there is no such thing as the best day to book a flight and the best prices might be available just when you least expect to see them.
