Winter is over but we have not even noticed because of the global lockdown.
It seems like we have been thrown straight to summertime and next winter appears extremely far away. We are frantically waiting for some restful days at the beach, sunbathing and listening to the sound of waves, or a deep plunge in the nature, hiking in the mountains, breathing the soft breeze blowing in the wood.
Either way, we want to break this pattern by focusing on the next cold season, thinking about that period of the year when hot chocolate, heavy blankets, and warm sweaters are our daily routine.
Our compass leads us to the fascinating landscapes of Norway. The idea came up from a peaceful aim, just to calm our nerves from the whole tension they are subjected to during these “still” days.
THE WELL – WELLNESS IN NORWAY: A RELAXING WISH-LIST
Nearly 30 km away from Oslo, in the little village of Sofiemyr, The Well is considered the biggest wellness center throughout Norway: it expands for 10,500 square meters and offers a unique experience just for adults: 11 different pools, 15 types of saunas and steam rooms, over 100 showers, waterfalls and so on, both indoors and outdoors. Moreover, it is possible to eat local food, like fine Norwegian fish in a beautiful restaurant, take a break in the relax-room, and drink something in one of the bars afterwards. Outdoors, you can even enjoy the marvelous mountain landscape while bathing in a jacuzzi or purifying yourself in a sauna while surrounded by pine trees.
FARRIS BAD – WELLNESS IN NORWAY: A RELAXING WISH-LIST
Larvik is a little town south of Oslo where we find an incredible deluxe hotel, the Farris Bad.
In 2019, it was ranked among the World Luxury Hotel Awards, thanks to the fancy adventure it provides.
Beside the wonderful, modern architecture of the resort and the magic landscape surrounding it, a customer can enjoy 19 different treatment rooms: both facial and classical massages are offered – even considering Haman and Rhassoul. The treatments have various contents, durations and effects.
A very interesting and singular experience is to take part to the largest sauna event in Northern Europe, which took place for the first time in 2018. Nowadays it features background music and special lights mixed with steam and perfumes that become the frame of a truly relaxing time.
VULKANA – WELLNESS IN NORWAY: A RELAXING WISH-LIST
In Tromsø – a famous cultural hub in the north of Norway – among the picturesque mountains overlooking the sea, it is possible to spend unforgettable moments: Vulkana used to be a traditional Norwegian fishing boat and has now been turned into a first class vessel for wellness and exploration.
On board, you can find a hot tub, a Finnish sauna and a steam bath and every spa-facility. Furthermore you can experience a regenerating moment while swimming in the ocean as the chef prepares local dishes on board. The dining area allows you to gaze the wonderful views of the mountains and the unique evening sky of Norway, painted by a multitude of colors’ shades: it will surely be one of the most remarkable experiences you will ever have.
