Where to eat in central Rome? Here are the experiences not to be missed! (first part)

Where to eat in central Rome? Here are the experiences not to be missed!

  • Ristorante Piperno: The first restaurant we are going to tell you about is a historic establishment. Open since 1860, it offers menus made with raw materials that follow the season but always according to Roman tradition. The restaurant is located in a small, very intimate square in the immediate vicinity of Tiber Island in the Jewish quarter.
  • Ristorante trattoria il Tritone: We recommend this place if only for their cacio e pepe, or to eat an excellent carbonara in Rome! For us, one of the best in the city, but in addition to the cacio e pepe absolutely do not miss the Roman style artichokes! Trattoria il Tritone is also a historic restaurant in Rome open since 1884!

Where to eat in Trastevere^

Trastevere is an area of Rome that, especially in the evening, comes alive with life. Whether it’s street food, pizza or a restaurant, you’ll surely be spoiled for choice when it comes to eating in Trastevere.

Trastevere restaurants

  • To taste some street food we recommend that you do not miss Trapizzino. The restaurant is located in the heart of the neighborhood, in front of Piazza Trilussa and in addition to tasting trapizzini ( stuffed pieces of pizza, which have the shape of a sandwich) you can also taste the famous Roman supplì.
  • Restaurant pizzeria Tonnarello: among the restaurants in trastevere we can’t but recommend Tonnarello. It is famous and touristy but despite its fame we find that it has not lost quality and we recommend that you do not miss their pinsa and carbonara as well! Another point, which in times like these can be in favor, is that the restaurant in Rome’s Trastevere is outdoors.
  • La Parolaccia: Here is the famous restaurant “la parolaccia.” Despite its reputation the dishes are delicious, and unless you are super touchy, we are sure that the evening will definitely be lively if you decide to eat at this restaurant in Rome.
  • Ristorante Pizzeria ai Marmi: in addition to excellent pizza, their fried cod and super supplì are a must try.

Do you know the Roman Maritozzo?

It is one of the city’s typical sweets, here are the places to try it:

  • The Maritozzo Rosso is located in the Trastevere area and is a real explosion of taste and flavor! In addition to the classics, don’t miss their gourmet proposals!
  • Pasticceria Regoli: this pastry shop is an institution in Rome! We recommend you get there in the morning so you don’t risk finding the maritozzi finished…but let’s be clear, then you will be spoiled for choice on other pastries!
  • Er Maritozzaro: recommended by locals is a cafe where you’ll find typical Latium pastries, and maritozzi that are bursting with cream!
