Where to go on vacation to meet the stars
From the Mediterranean to America via Dubai, here’s where VIPs vacation and where to go if you want to do some star watching!
Haven’t yet decided where to go on vacation but like the idea of spending a week with a chance to see your favorite VIP?
Know that it is not that difficult. Just go find them in the right place, the stars.
In Italy, Rome, Capri (and the Amalfi Coast), Lake Como, Versilia and Forte dei Marmi, and, of course, Sardinia might be right for you.
Even better if, as also in the case of Isle Bonite Ibiza and Formentera, you manage to take a boat ride.
Who knows, you might find yourself snorkeling with Leo Di Caprio.
Dubai and Los Angeles, between Hollywood, West Hollywood and the big hotels, don’t disappoint and continue to be destinations for stars from all over the world-think Madonna even has a private islet in front of Dubai in a dreamy archipelago.
And don’t forget the Maldives: who knows, your neighbors might be two newlyweds from the world of show business.
Kim Kardashian and family are obsessed with Dubai.
Of course, don’t think you’ll spot them so easily: if you’re lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of them when they step out of the Atlantis Palm Resort or when they store at emblazoned stores.
Even Cristiano Ronaldo likes to take refuge among the skyscrapers of this big city, while Madonna has a private islet at The World Islands.
David and Victoria Beckham, in Dubai, have no less than two properties: a villa at Palm Jumeirah and an apartment at Burj Khalifa (reportedly costing $5m).
Giorgio Armani is also a frequent visitor to Dubai: after all, speaking of Burj Khalifa, the Armani hotel is right in this crazy skyscraper.
It’s not uncommon to spot a few stars in Hollywood. Especially when they enter or leave glitzy, modern hotels, while Cecconi’s and Pump’s are the West Hollywood places to go hunting.
Start at the Chateau Marmont, which has always attracted celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson and Robert Pattinson, while the recording studio on the ground floor of Sunset Marquis attracts singers from all over the world but, of course, mostly Americans: Madonna and Elton John have been spotted several times.
On the street, however, you might meet Tom Cruise, a Tom Hanks or Jennifer Anniston.
There are also local agencies (such as Starline Tours) that entice tourists with the prospect of spotting some VIP. Who knows, maybe it’s worth a try.
Alternatively, know that even strolling the long beaches of Los Angeles you might run into someone: recently Kabir Bedi (you know Sandokan, right?) was also spotted, again traveling the world for Ong Care & Share for which he is an ambassador.
One name, however, that counts for ten: George Clooney, who spends very romantic days in his Villa Oleandra with his wife Amal, their little twins and many family friends, including Cindy Crowford, Matt Demon, Brad Pitt in the past.
But Robert Pattinson, Richard Gere and Tom Cruise have also been spotted nearby. I wonder if to buy them a “little property” as well.
For concerts, events or whatever, dozens and dozens of VIPs pass through the capital. Especially in June, when at the Golden Globes the Foreign Press awards Italian films.
Where do the stars go?
They go to eat at starred restaurants overlooking Colosseum, such as Aroma, or to elegant trattorias like Antica Pesa: here even, in the middle of the afternoon, Leo Di Caprio had gone a few years ago before leaving Rome.
Where do they sleep? At the Eden Hotel or the De Russie: Justin Bieber, for example, always chooses it.
Of course, the vast majority of VIPs go there between December and April, the best season for swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Maldives.
Among the stars who count vacations in this earthly paradise are Chiara Ferragni and Fedez, Alessia Marcuzzi who usually chooses the Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, Eros Ramazzotti and Marika Pellegrinelli who have been spotted at Diamonds Resort in Athuruga, as well as her ex Michelle Hunziker.
If you have a boat moored in Capri, you already know that it is not uncommon to have breakfast and dive “next door” to some actor or star. Even from overseas.
If you are not equipped with boats-not even a dinghy to rent from time to time-know that it is not impossible to see them in flip-flops getting off and heading to some typical little restaurant.
Who might you run into? They have already visited the island and been fascinated by it, Jennifer Lopez, Will Smith and family, Leo Di Caprio, Heidi Klum, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk, Michael Chiklis, Matthew McConaughey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rod Stewart, Bono Vox who has also been to the Amalfi Coast afterwards, and many others. Some, of course, also went to the Taverna Anema e Core.
IBIZA AND FORMENTERA
Videos of Bobo Vieri playing soccer on the beaches of Formentera are now famous. But between Ibiza and the crazy little island in front of it, there are also other VIPs who spend a few days or a whole week here.
Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss adore Cala Bassa in Ibiza, not far from the Downtown restaurant, where Justin Bieber and Orlando Bloom were spotted. Who, however, ended the evening with pugli.
In Ses Salines, still in Isla Bonita, they spotted Flavio Briatore, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Leonardo Di Caprio several times.
In Cala Saona (Formentera) Giorgio Armani has been spotted, and at Blu Bar you can meet stars having aperitifs. In Es Pujols, a movida spot, one often meets Tommy Vee, David Guetta and Bob Sinclar.
Among others: Kate Hudson, Giorgio Panariello, Melissa Satta, Piero Chiambretti, Federica Nargi, Pierre Casiraghi and John Elkann, Gianna Nannini, Stefano De Martino, Belen Rodriguez, Alessandra Ambrosio.
